Basic STAR Exemption Re-Registration

Governor Cuomo’s 2014 Executive Budget Financial Plan proposal,  will require all recipients of the Basic STAR exemption to register with the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance for 2014.

This does not affect the Basic STAR exemption for 2013.

Recipients of the Enhanced STAR exemption are NOT required to register.

The NYS Department of Taxation and Finance will be contacting all Basic STAR recipients by mail later this year with instructions on how to register online.
